Gate to Downtown

From the gate at DFW to the door downtown.

DFW is a large airport and downtown is twenty miles away, so the trip is won or lost in the planning. These are the five things we arrange before you fly.

Before you land: the flight is already being watched

Give us the airline and flight number when you reserve. We follow the flight before the chauffeur sets out, so an early landing or a delay moves the pickup rather than your evening.

A rebooking or a missed connection does not always show in the original flight record straight away. A short message from you or your assistant keeps the plan accurate.

At the terminal: curbside, or met inside

DFW has five terminals, A to E, joined by the Skylink train. Tell us yours and we plan around when you will actually walk out: a carry-on-only domestic arrival can be at the curb quickly, while checked bags and an international arrival through U.S. Customs take longer.

Choose curbside pickup at the authorized pickup area for your terminal, or ask for meet-and-greet and your chauffeur waits inside near baggage claim with a name sign. Our guide to meet-and-greet vs. curbside at DFW compares the two.

The drive in: about 19 miles east

The Omni Dallas Hotel, beside the convention center, lists 19 miles from DFW. Its directions leave the airport onto TX-114 East, join TX-183 East and then I-35E South into downtown. Some trips run along TX-183 from the south exit instead.

The Adolphus puts the drive at about 30 minutes. Rush hour on 183 and I-35E, event nights downtown and weather can stretch that considerably, so your chauffeur picks the route on the day.

Downtown: straight to the door

The chauffeur goes directly to your hotel entrance, office lobby, the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center or a dinner reservation in the Arts District, handles the bags and confirms anything you need later in the stay.

Heading to a meeting first? Add hourly service and the same chauffeur waits while you check in, then carries on to the next address.

The return to DFW, timed to your departure

We set the downtown pickup time from your departure, the terminal, whether you are checking bags and the time of day. We suggest a time when you reserve, and you can always ask for more margin before a long-haul flight.

Reserving both directions at once means one confirmation, one point of contact and, on request, the same chauffeur for the trip back.

DFW to Downtown FAQ

Before you reserve.

More on airport pickups at our DFW Airport chauffeur service page and our FAQ.

  1. About 16 to 20 miles, depending on where downtown you are going. The Omni Dallas Hotel lists 19 miles from DFW, and Visit Dallas lists about 16 miles from the airport to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.

  2. With light traffic, around half an hour; The Adolphus describes it as about a 30-minute drive. Weekday rush hours, events downtown and weather can make it considerably longer, so we set pickup and return times from the actual time of day rather than a fixed estimate.

  3. It depends on the trip. DART’s Orange Line is the low-cost option from Terminal A. Taxis and rideshare are available on demand at the terminals. A prearranged chauffeur suits travelers who want a confirmed vehicle, flight monitoring, help with luggage and a direct ride to the door, especially for business trips, families and late arrivals.

  4. Yes. DART’s Orange Line runs from DFW Airport Terminal A Station, near Gate A10, and every Orange Line train serves downtown Dallas. From other terminals, ride Skylink to Terminal A first. Check DART’s DFW Airport page for current schedules and fares.

  5. At the authorized pickup area for your terminal for curbside service, or inside near baggage claim with a name sign if you request meet-and-greet. The exact meeting plan for your terminal is in your confirmation.

  6. With your airline and flight number, we monitor the flight and adjust the pickup to the real arrival time. If you are rebooked onto a different flight, let our team know so the pickup follows the new one.

  7. The BMW 7 Series First Class sedan suits one or two travelers with standard luggage. The Cadillac Escalade or GMC Yukon Denali seats up to six with more room for bags. The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is available for VIP arrivals. See the full fleet.

  8. Yes: The Adolphus, The Joule, the Fairmont, the Omni Dallas, the Thompson, The Statler and the other downtown and Uptown hotels, the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, the Arts District and Victory Park. Our Dallas hotel guide covers the hotels in more detail.

  9. Yes. Several sedans and SUVs can be coordinated around staggered arrivals, and coach buses are available for larger groups of up to 250 passengers. See corporate event transportation.

  10. Reserve online through our booking system, or call (469) 305-8960 with your flight, passengers, luggage, vehicle preference and downtown address. Reserve early around conventions, holidays and major events.
